Painting of a bearded man with long dark wavy hair, head bowed and eyes lowered, in a brown garment against a dark background, lit warmly on the face.

Head of Christ, bust-length portrait by Rembrandt

This painting shows a bust-length bearded man with long, wavy dark hair, his head inclined and eyes lowered, wearing a brown garment. Warm light falls on his face against a dark brown background, and loose, soft brushwork models the beard and fabric, matching the museum title Head of Christ.
