St. Bernard Dogs Rescuing an Avalanche Victim, Engraving After Landseer

A dark, tonal engraving shows two large St. Bernard dogs on snow beside a half-buried man lying face down. One dog nuzzles and works at his head while the other stands on a snowy slope, and a distant figure and building appear in the mountain background. Dense crosshatched shading gives the scene a dramatic, moody atmosphere.
