Terriers in a Barn, 'Rough and Ready' (Frank Paton, 1888)

Three terriers gather in a barn with hay piled behind them: one sniffs at a wicker basket on the floorboards, while the others look intently toward it. Fine etched lines render the wiry coats, and sketched fairground and circus vignettes frame the central scene under the caption 'Rough and Ready'.
