The Opening of Pandora's Box: caricature of a Lock Hospital, 1802

A hand-coloured etching shows a crowd of caricatured men gathered before a stone building with a small tower. A stout, seated figure with a pipe and a tub of water, a kilted Highlander, a man on crutches, and a uniformed officer with a wooden leg stand near a box on the ground. At right, a smiling man rides in a yellow carriage, and a dog gnaws at a bone nearby.
