Black-and-white portrait of a mustached man in a suit with a metal craniometer arched over his head, demonstrating cranial measurement.

Bernard Hollander measuring his own head with a craniometer, c. 1902

A black-and-white head-and-shoulders portrait of a man with a full mustache, wearing a dark suit, white collar and patterned tie. A metal calipers-style craniometer arches over his head from ear to ear, held against the skull, while the numeral 12 is written in the upper left corner. The plain studio backdrop and frontal pose make the measuring device the clear focus.
