Dark mezzotint caricature of a dancing lesson: a bowing gentleman in a coat, a violinist at left, onlookers in a room with a window and dogs on the floor.

Gentlemen being instructed in dancing and posture

An 18th-century mezzotint caricature shows a dancing lesson in a sunlit room: a fashionable gentleman in a coat bows while another holds his hand, a violinist plays at left, and dogs lie on the floor. Figures in tailored dress and a framed portrait on the wall fill the composition in dark, detailed tones.
