Watercolor of a red adobe church with two bell towers and crosses, with shawled figures gathered in the foreground and a wooden cross on a hill at right.

Church, Rancho de Taos (watercolor, 1931)

A watercolor of an adobe church with twin bell towers and crosses, its rose-red walls warmed by ochre tones. In the foreground, a group of figures in shawls and long dresses in red, blue, and black gather near a low walled courtyard and open portal. The loose, washed brushwork gives the scene a sunlit, spontaneous character.
