Watercolour of a three-headed monster with white, red and blue heads coiled inside a pear-shaped glass flask topped by a golden crown.

Three-headed monster in an alchemical flask, watercolour by E.A. Ibbs

A three-headed dragon-like monster with white, red and blue heads coils inside a pear-shaped glass flask sealed by a golden crown. Its scaly green-spotted body and bat-like wing fill the lower bulb against a pale grey background. The watercolour is a stylised allegory of salt, sulphur and mercury.
