Walpurgisnacht: a devil watches witches on broomsticks

A dark, horned devil stands on a rocky outcrop in the foreground, one leg raised, holding a staff, while small figures on broomsticks streak through swirling clouds above. Fine hatched etching lines create the night sky and foliage. An inscription in the lower margin reads "May day Night on the Brocken."
