A hand-colored engraved plate from Mark Catesby's natural history of Carolina, Florida and the Bahamas shows a spotted, rounded pufferfish-like fish beneath a branch of green leaves, small white flower clusters, and berries on reddish stems. A green bean pod and pink flower sprays sit at left, with Latin labels and plate number T28 printed in the margins.
