Dutch river scene with a sailboat flying a flag, a brick church tower with a spire, and red-roofed houses under a pale sky.

The Church of Overschie

A small sailing boat with a Dutch flag on its mast drifts on the river in the foreground, while a brick church tower with a slender spire rises above red-roofed houses and trees. Loose brushwork and a grey-blue sky with scattered clouds give this oil painting a calm, Impressionist summer feel.
