Sita (Odilon Redon, c. 1893)

A woman in profile with a dark red head covering and a pale green halo-like glow faces left against a deep blue night sky dotted with gold specks. A glowing amber oval floats at left, and pale, flowerlike forms with yellow and pink accents drift in the lower right. The soft, chalky pastel handling is luminous and dreamlike.
