Saint Francis of Assisi Praying

A kneeling bearded friar in a brown hooded habit and bare feet bends over an open book on a rock ledge in a dark cave. A skull rests beside the book at right, and a single warm light falls on the figure's bald head and hands against deep shadow, in oil on canvas.
