Pietà with Sorrowing Angels

A small carved figure group shows the Virgin Mary, hooded and seated, cradling the body of Christ across her lap. Two winged putti sit at the sides, one pressing a hand to his face, and the group rests on a dark wooden base inlaid with tortoiseshell panels.
