Interior: a courtesan writing while another looks on

A hanging scroll shows two elegantly dressed women in an interior with a folding screen painted with a blossoming tree and distant hills. The standing woman in a dark patterned kimono looks down at the seated woman, who kneels on a red cushion writing with a brush. Calligraphy in ink fills the upper right.
