Engraving of an armored angel with a sword hurling monstrous, animal-headed fallen figures down through clouds toward a rocky, chaotic scene below.

Fallen Angels Cast Down by Michael, Engraving after Maerten de Vos, 1583

An engraving shows Michael with a raised sword and shield in the upper center, driving winged, animal-headed demons downward through clouds. Below, contorted nude and hybrid figures tumble among rocks and sea creatures, with lions and serpents in the lower corners. Fine parallel hatching models the bodies and sky.
