Fortune-tellers outside a palace on the Nile, after Cassas (1798)
An etching shows a group of robed figures gathered on a riverbank beside tall palms, while a mounted rider with a spear watches. Behind them, a fortified palace with a tower and a decorated colonnaded terrace overlooks the water, where a small boat and birds rest. The caption reads "Diseuses de bonne aventure" (fortune-tellers), with "maisons de plaisance sur le rivage du Nil, en face de l'ancienne Memphis."
