Despair of Job

A bearded, nearly nude man sits on the ground with both arms raised toward a pale, cloudy sky, while two women bow low beside him in grief. Loose watercolor and ink wash render the dim hills, a stone column at right, and soft shadows, in Blake's expressive linear style.
