Demonstration of a Pregnant Uterus and Full-Term Fetus
An engraved anatomical plate from an obstetric atlas shows a pregnant woman's abdomen opened to reveal a full-term fetus curled within the uterus, surrounded by layered intestines and soft tissue. Fine hatched lines model the skin, membranes and folds against a dark ground, with a sheet draped across the upper body.
