Astronomy: two men observing through a telescope, mezzotint by James Watson, 1778

A monochrome mezzotint of two 18th-century men in an observatory. A standing man in a long coat and knee breeches sights through a long telescope on a wooden stand, while a seated man in a waistcoat rests his hand on a sheet of paper beside a terrestrial globe. Dark, soft tonal shading fills the room behind them.
