Introduction of the Gout, coloured caricature, 1818

A stout man in a blue coat and red armchair sits at a round table with fruit, decanters and a glass, while a small horned demon heats his swollen foot over a flame. A pineapple, a mantel clock and a volcano print on the wall complete the richly furnished room.
