Etching of a crane putting its long beak into a wolf's open mouth, with a river town and boats in the background and a Latin caption above.

A crane and a wolf: Aesop's fable, etching after Christoph Murer

A long-legged crane leans forward and thrusts its beak into the open jaws of a seated wolf in a wooded landscape. Behind them a walled town, a river with boats, and small figures on a bridge recede into the distance. The Latin caption GRATIA SUPERIORUM is engraved across the top of the fine black-and-white etching.
