A black-and-white engraving in three tiers: a top band with a heraldic shield, an eagle and a lion, a middle band of two circular alchemical diagrams, and a lower laboratory with two figures, furnaces and glass vessels. Fine crosshatched lines and a German-language title across the top give the plate a dense, instructional look.
