Monochrome aquatint of a large dragon tree with a small arched door in its trunk, two figures, palms and a distant mountain.

An old dragon tree (Dracaena draco) with a gash in its stem releasing its "dragon's blood" resin and a door in its trunk. Aquatint with etching by R. G. Reeve after J. J. Williams, c.1819.

A large dragon tree dominates this monochrome aquatint, its dense crown of spiky branches spreading above a thick trunk with a small arched door at its base. Two small figures stand on a path among palms, low buildings, and a distant mountain under a dramatic cloudy sky.
